Your Image Matters A Lot

Nigerians Breweries partnered Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Adichie for a creative writing workshop to train 22 upcoming Nigerian writers.

NB received about 2,000 entries of which 22 were selected, entries which came from different part of the world.

Here is Adichie's comment after the conference:

"I was not only looking for talent, but I was looking for something heartfelt for emotional truth and most of all originality".

Talent is not enough in your journey to the apex. You need to always present your true self.

Your emotional truth and originality is what can peddle your talent to the top. You need an IMAGE that represent you.

Don't fake yourself trying to please people on the stage of life. Be yourself, listen to yourself and forget what others will say or are saying.

We always try to put up a life of pretense when our emotional truth and original self is what is needed to keep us ahead.

You can get there but you need to be your real self.

When David wanted to confront Goliath, the Israel armies dressed him with armor, shield and other weaponry that helps a solider in the battlefield. But David discovered that when he conquered the beast that attacked his father’s sheep.

He wasn't wearing those armor, he told them to undress him. That he want to face Goliath with God behind him and his catapult.

He chose to battle with his real image - original and emotional truth - not mixed with external effort or trying to please the king or the Israelite.

He remain strong to what he believe in. He also believe his original image and emotional stance not posed with pretense will grant him victory at the battlefield.

Be like David, be real you.
